Our Advocacy Services

We provide specialist advocacy support across a range of statutory frameworks. Our advocates are experienced in working with individuals facing complex, high-risk or emotionally challenging situations.

Care Act Advocacy

Supporting adults during Care Act assessments, care planning, reviews and safeguarding enquiries.

We provide independent advocacy to adults who may have difficulty understanding or participating in Care Act processes. Our role is to ensure individuals are fully involved in decisions about their care and support.

We help individuals:
• Understand their rights under the Care Act
• Prepare for assessments and meetings
• Express their views clearly
• Challenge decisions where necessary
• Participate fully in safeguarding processes

Children’s Advocacy

Supporting children and young people involved in care, safeguarding and statutory review processes.

We provide independent advocacy to ensure children and young people are listened to, understood and meaningfully involved in decisions that affect their lives. Our role is to stand alongside them, helping them navigate complex systems with confidence and clarity.

We help young people:
• Express their views
• Participate in review meetings
• Understand care decisions
• Challenge unfair treatment
• Be heard within statutory systems

Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA)

Supporting individuals detained under the Mental Health Act, subject to Community Treatment Orders, or receiving certain mental health treatments.

We provide independent advocacy to ensure individuals understand their rights and are fully involved in decisions about their care and treatment.

We help individuals:
• Understand their rights
• Access legal advice
• Prepare for tribunal hearings
• Communicate with professionals
• Participate in care planning meetings

Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA)

Supporting people who lack capacity and have no appropriate family member or representative to consult.

We provide statutory IMCA support when significant decisions are being made on behalf of a person who cannot make that decision themselves. Our role is to ensure the individual’s past and present wishes, feelings, beliefs and values are properly considered.

IMCA support is provided where decisions relate to:

• Serious medical treatment
• Long-term accommodation moves
• Safeguarding enquiries
• Deprivation of Liberty safeguards

Complaints & Representation

Supporting individuals to raise concerns and navigate formal complaints procedures across health and social care services.

When individuals feel unheard, unfairly treated or dissatisfied with services, we provide structured advocacy support to help them pursue their concerns appropriately and confidently.

We support individuals to:

• Understand complaint procedures and timescales
• Draft clear and effective correspondence
• Prepare for complaint meetings and investigations
• Present their concerns professionally and assertively
